Don’t miss our two final keynote speakers at this year’s ALTA Advocacy Summit. The first speaker is U.S. Representative Young Kim (R-CA 39th District) who will be sitting down with ALTA CEO, Diane Tomb for in depth interview to talk about being a small business owner, community leader, first Korean-American women elected to Congress and a mother.
In the 117th Congress, Kim serves on the House Small Business Committee; House Foreign Affairs Committee; and the House Science, Space & Technology Committee. She is also a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, which is a bipartisan group committed to finding common ground on key issues. Kim is one of the first Korean-American women ever to serve in Congress, and she hopes to help all Americans have the chance to achieve their dreams just like she did.
Then to close out the session, Senior Advisor to the President and Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, Cedric Richmond will speak to the Biden Administration’s perspective on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on small businesses and the economy – and where we will go from here!
As an attorney, politician and political advisor, Richmond was a five-term U.S. Representative for Louisiana’s second congressional district from 2011-2021. He joined the House Committee on Homeland Security, the Judiciary Committee and the Ways and Means Committee and sponsored 90 bills during his tenure in the chamber. Raised in New Orleans, Richmond also served as the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus for three years. After co-chairing President Biden’s successful presidential campaign, he was appointed to his current senior advisor position.
