Covid Safety Protocols

Updated September 8, 2021

Hurricane Ida Update: ALTA’s thoughts remain with everyone in the Gulf Coast area enduring the catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Ida. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates if there are any changes to ALTA ONE.  The Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel sustained minimal damage, has had their power restored and is fully operational.

The American Land Title Association (ALTA) is preparing the ALTA ONE event experience so that all individuals onsite – attendees, speakers, staff and venue personnel – remain safe and comfortable throughout the event. We are monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and are in constant communication with our partners at Hilton New Orleans Riverside hotel, the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau, partner associations, national authorities, and ALTA Board of Governors.

Currently the State of Louisiana has an indoor mask mandate in effect for all people ages 5 and older. ALTA will be prepared to adhere to the COVID restrictions announced in New Orleans that mandates anyone 12 years of age and older must provide proof of at least one dose of an approved COVID vaccine or a negative PCR test within 72 hours to access restaurants, bars, event spaces and gyms in the city of New Orleans. For more information on the mayor’s guidelines click here.   These new restrictions went into effect Monday, August 16, 2021, and do not have a set end date. ALTA will provide further instructions on how these documents will need to be presented closer to the date of the meeting.  The city implemented these protocols to help protect their workers. It should be noted that 74% of all adults in New Orleans have been fully vaccinated.  For more information, see the City of New Orleans’ website.

In 2020, the Hilton Riverside New Orleans Hotel installed a special air cleaning system throughout all of their meeting space. The system takes in the H2O that is in the air and adds in an additional oxygen molecule to form H2O2. The device then acts as a disinfectant and removes particles from the air that it takes in and re-disperses as hydrogen peroxide. The H2O2 settles on soft and hard surfaces and acts as a constant disinfectant on these surfaces. This air cleaning technology has been proven and is used in hospitals, “clean rooms” in technology manufacturing and pharmaceutical settings, etc.

Additionally, ALTA is also prepared to engage with an organization that will can enforce all protocols across the board, throughout the week. Depending on the state of the pandemic, and the Delta variant, there are various safety measures that ALTA will implement.

  • Socially distanced seating at tables, and in the audience.
  • Ensuring all attendees are wearing masks – if required by local authorities.
  • Hand sanitizing stations throughout the convention.
  • COVID-19 testing resources near the hotel.
  • Color-coded wrist bands allowing people to display their level of comfort for interactions with others.
