John C. Bommarito

John C. Bommarito is currently General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for ATA National Title Group, LLC and its family of companies, the largest independent title agency in the Great Lakes region. In addition to the General Counsel responsibilities, he runs ATA’s National Commercial Services division. Prior to arriving at ATA, he was Associate State Counsel with LandAmerica Financial Group and before that, in-house counsel for another large Metro Detroit title agent. He also has experience as an expert witness in disputes and litigation involving title insurance and real property. Mr. Bommarito graduated Cum Laude from the University of Detroit Mercy Law School. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Dayton in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and Certification in International Business. Professionally, Mr. Bommarito is a Past-President of the Michigan Land Title Association (MLTA); present Chair of the MLTA Legislative Steering committee; an ICLE contributing author; an active member of the State Bar of Michigan's Real Property Law Section; past-chair of the Oakland County Bar Association Real Estate Committee; Past President of the Italian American Bar Association; a member of the Macomb County Bar Association serving on its Real Estate Committee; and a member of the Macomb County Bar Foundation serving on its scholarship committee. Mr. Bommarito enjoys opportunities to speak with customers, consumers and various trade associations in the multiple states where ATA operates and he has multiple articles published in various real estate, legal and trade association publications. Additionally, John is a recipient of the MLTA’s Robert J. Jay award; and the President’s Award from the Italian American Bar Association.
