Brian S. Burkett specializes in commercial, real estate and business law, as well as general civil litigation and real property litigation. He advises both businesses and individuals on complex matters such as business organization, commercial transactions, and the sale and purchase of real estate, including title insurance, and provides comprehensive legal guidance throughout the litigation process.

Brian believes in empowering his clients with knowledge, ensuring they fully understand their legal options to make informed decisions. His clients appreciate his ability to break down complicated legal matters into clear, actionable steps while prioritizing their goals and concerns.

A graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Brian also earned a B.S. from Purdue University. He then gained valuable experience as a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and served as an Articles Editor for the Journal of Business & Technology Law at the Carey School of Law.

Before entering legal practice, Brian built a robust professional background, working as an analyst and manager at a home medical equipment company in Chicago, Illinois, as well as a sales manager leading strategic initiatives for Transamerica Agency Network in Bowie, Maryland. These roles equip him with a deep understanding of executive decision-making, and the day-to-day realties of business operations—insights he leverages to provide practical and strategic legal advice.

Now based in Queen Anne’s County, Brian lives with his wife and two sons. He is deeply connected to his community and brings a personal touch to his legal practice, understanding that behind every case is a person or business relying on his guidance.
