Brian has had a long career in the title insurance business in Texas. He has directly managed a title insurance agency or direct operation in Texas since 1991. He was one of the Co-Founders of Independence Title in 2005 and currently serves as the CEO. The company has over 550 employees and is active in the Austin, San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston area markets.

Brian has served in numerous positions of leadership with the Texas Land Title Association (TLTA) over the years. He served as President of TLTA from 2010-2011. He was awarded the TLTA President’s Award in 2007. He was named the TLTA Title Person of the Year in 2008. He is also actively involved in the American Land Title Association (ALTA) and has served on the Board of Governors for ALTA (2013-2015). Brian is currently the Vice-Chair of the Agents Section of ALTA. He is also involved in many real estate related organizations.

Brian is originally from Sherman, Texas. Brian attended Sherman High School and The University of Texas at Austin. Brian, and his wife Shelle, live in Austin, Texas. Brian and Shelle have four adult children: Kelsee Pitman, Reid Pitman, Trevor Pitman & Troy Greenamyre.
