Cheri Hipenbecker
General Counsel
Knight Barry Title, Inc.
CHERI HIPENBECKER is General Counsel for the Knight Barry Title Group, which is a group of title and settlement companies with over 80 offices and 400 title and closing professionals with offices throughout Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Cheri joined Knight Barry Title in 2007 when the company had only 80 people in Southeastern Wisconsin. Since joining Knight Barry Title in 2007 Cheri, along with the other members of Knight Barry Title’s Executive Team, saw expansion opportunities and began aggressively increasing the company’s footprint by acquiring at least 1 title company every year since 2007.
In addition to acquisition mode, Cheri serves as a first point of contact for Knight Barry Title’s staff on all things “legal” including implementation of American Land Title Association’s (ALTA) Best Practices.
But Cheri’s dedication to real property conveyances doesn’t start and end with Knight Barry Title. She has been actively engaged with the Wisconsin Land Title Association (WLTA) since 2007, is Past-President of the WLTA and current WLTA Legislative Chair. She is also currently serving a gubernatorial appointment to Wisconsin’s Remote Notary Council, a member of ALTA’s Best Practices Executive Committee, Co-Chair of ALTA’s Best Practices Pillar 4 Committee and a director of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section for the Wisconsin State Bar. Bringing it home, Cheri serves on the Town of Norway (Racine County WI) Planning Commission & Land Use Committee.
Cheri has a passion for the real estate industry and takes the safety and security of consumer
privacy and money to heart, having actively presented on wire fraud since 2015. When not out
presenting you can find Cheri with her husband Bob, daughter Kelsey (22) and son Gavin (18)
enjoying the beautiful lakes and state parks in Wisconsin, or playing ice hockey with some
phenomenal ladies in Wisconsin.
