Dan Buchanan is Vice President and Senior Title Counsel in the Corporate Underwriting Department of First American Title Insurance Company.

At First American, Dan's duties include establishing and communicating underwriting practices and policies, making underwriting decisions on high liability transactions, and assisting underwriters in resolving title issues, for both the Company's direct operations and for underwritten title agents. He also supports First American's national escrow operations and assists in dealing with complex escrow questions and the development of escrow procedures. Dan represents First American on the American Land Title Association's Forms Committee, Title Counsel Committee and Native Lands Committee. He is also active in the California Land Title Association, serving on the Board of Governors and its Executive Committee, the Forms & Practices Committee, and the Legislative Committee.
