Liz Halabu Casselman is the owner and Chief Operating Officer of Birmingham Title Agency and American Title Agency of Lenawee. As a licensed Michigan attorney, she is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Real Property Law Section and of CREW Detroit. She serves as the Chair of the Title Agent and Associate Member Committee and Chair of the Education Committee for the Michigan Land Title Association and is active in the American Land Title Association. In 2023, Liz earned her designation as a Certified Land Title Professional through the Michigan Land Title Association. She is also a licensed title producer agent in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. She has been a board member of several organizations, including non-profits, educational institutions, and banks.

In addition to her work as a title agent, Liz founded Birmingham Exchange Company, a qualified intermediary facilitating 1031 exchanges all over the country, earning her designation as a Certified Exchange Specialist through the Federation of Exchange Accommodators. She is also a partner at her family’s real estate law firm, Halabu P.C and the Vice President of Gandol Inc., a construction and commercial door company.

In 2023, Liz published her first book, “Not Just a Title: A Journey of Growth in the Title Industry”.

Liz earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Oakland University in 2012, her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in 2015, and her Executive Master of Business Administration from Oakland University in 2020. A lifelong learner, she provides Continuing Legal Education classes to the real estate community on topics ranging from title insurance to 1031 exchanges.
