Maribeth Walsh

Maribeth Walsh is a Divisional National Underwriting Counsel at First American. She focuses primarily on national commercial transactions and chairs the Company’s Waterways Practice Group. Prior to joining First American in 2015, Maribeth served as a Senior Underwriting Counsel for two New York-based title agencies where she also focused on national commercial transactions. Prior to that, Maribeth held various counsel positions with leading national underwriters. She was also a partner in a mid-size New York law firm and a consultant in the financial services space.

Maribeth graduated from the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA) with a Bachelor of Arts and received a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law (Jamaica, NY).

Maribeth is a member of the New York State Bar Association, and the New York State Land Title Association. She previously served on the Nassau Academy of Law’s Advisory Board and as the Academy’s Treasurer. Maribeth is also a member of ALTA’s Title Counsel and Best Practices Working Groups. She has spoken extensively on real estate and title insurance topics.
