Matthew C. Cahill is a Senior Divisional Underwriting Counsel at First American Title Insurance Company, National Commercial Services, Northeast Region.

Mr. Cahill has been an underwriter at First American for over 10 years. Prior to joining the staff at the New York Division, Mr. Cahill worked at First American’s White Plains office where he also served as Underwriting Counsel. He is an active lecturer in First American’s Continuing Legal Education program.

Mr. Cahill formerly served as In-House Counsel to Superior Bank FSB/Alliance Funding Company providing counsel to the Servicing Division specializing in regulatory compliance as well as supervising contested litigation. Previously, Mr. Cahill was in private practice. Mr. Cahill received his B.A. in Journalism from the State University of New York, College at Buffalo in 1991 and also studied at the University of South Australia. He received his J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1994. He is admitted to the bar in the state of New York.
