Joey Strength is a partner at HunterMaclean, a law firm with offices in Savannah and St. Simons Island, Georgia, specializing in real estate and development law.
He advises owners and developers on site selection, due diligence, contract negotiation, zoning, land use regulation, property acquisition, closing, and subdivision and condominium development. Joey also represents borrowers and lenders in secured transactions, landlords and tenants in leasing transactions, and guides clients through conservation projects and like-kind real estate exchanges. His experience spans residential, commercial, mixed-use, resort, timber, office, retail, shopping center, hotel, and hospitality projects.
Joey has received the highest Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating (AV/5.0) and has been recognized by the St. Simons Land Trust and the Golden Isles Association of Realtors for his contributions to conservation and the real estate community.
He graduated with honors from the University of Alabama's College of Arts and Sciences and School of Law, earning the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Medallion. Prior to entering private practice, Joey served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, including as a special assistant U.S. Attorney.
Joey is a member of the American Land Title Association, the Southeast Land Title Association, the State Bar of Alabama, and the State Bar of Georgia, where he serves on the executive committee of the real estate section.
